Our Story
My name is Shaina Baggins,
hello!
and I am the co-owner and head stylist at Poppy Blowout Bar. I am married to the love of my life, Phillip, and the mother of our beautiful son, Kingston. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for the last seven years, but I have over a decade of experience in the beauty industry.
My love and passion for the beauty industry was rooted in watching my mom through her journey with Mary Kay. I have always known the beauty industry was for me, and my love for it has only grown over the years!
I am so thankful to my amazing parents, who go to great lengths for us, that love and support each one of their children to chase after their dreams. They taught us to put the Lord first in every little area of our lives and that if you are willing to roll up your sleeves and work hard- anything is possible. Because of their love and support, I gained the confidence to keep going in my career, even when I wanted to give up or quit.
After working at a couple of different salons, I had various experiences that shaped me into the person I am today. Starting this project, I knew what kind of environment I wanted to provide for not only our customers but for our employees. After toying with the idea for almost two years, we are so beyond excited to bring something special to the Eastern Shore for women, by women.

and I am one of the co-owners of Poppy Blowout Bar. I have been married to my husband, David, for 35 years, and we have four grown children and three grandchildren. 22 years as an Independent Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics:
After hearing about the concept of a BLOWOUT BAR over seven years ago, I was intrigued by the idea of starting my own. My daughter, Shaina, was fresh out of Cosmetology school and didn’t think much about my suggestion of starting one ourselves. Every once in a while, I would daydream about owning one and imagine it to be a place where women could come in, get pampered and have a relaxing time.
Then, one day last year, I mentioned it again, and Shaina was ready to give it a shot. I wanted so much for us to do this together. Combining my 22 years of customer service in the skincare & cosmetics industry with her cosmetology and hair salon experience, I couldn’t help but think, what a fun adventure for a mother and daughter.
Together, Shaina and I are putting our heart and soul into Poppy Blowout Bar, and we hope you love your time spent with us.
